The 50 Games We’ve Been Seeing Everywhere — August–September 2026

This isn’t our top 50 sellers.

Honestly, that’d be a pretty boring list.

254 games came through last month.

This is the stuff we’ve been seeing come through trades, inventory, buy lists, and our own hands lately. Some showed up multiple times. Some only showed up once but were too good, too weird, or too nostalgic to leave off.

Basically, if we’ve talked about it, pulled one out of a trade pile, argued about it, or said “oh shit, I haven’t seen one of these in forever” — it’s probably here.

And yeah, there’s some personal bias.

Order Up. Battlefield 4. MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf.

Those are probably the three we’d fight over.

So here we go.

50. Play Action Football — NES Old NES sports games. Cheap, weird, nostalgic. We’ll take it.

49. Triple Play 2001 — PS1 Peak PS1 sports-game era.

48. Test Drive 6 — PS1 One of those games where seeing the case immediately brings back a memory.

47. Namco Museum 50th Anniversary — Xbox Arcade games on an original Xbox. What’s not to like?

46. GoldenEye Rogue Agent — Xbox Not that GoldenEye. Still a fun little Xbox-era shooter.

45. Crimson Skies — Xbox This game deserves way more love than it gets.

44. Ghost Recon 2 — Xbox The original Xbox had an absurd number of shooters.

43. NFL Blitz 2000 — PS1 Before sports games needed a damn internet connection to be fun.

42. Shrek Treasure Hunt — PS1 We’re not explaining this one.

41. MechWarrior 2 — PS1 Old-school mech games are always welcome around here.

40. Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects — PS2 Weird Marvel fighting game. That’s enough.

39. Sonic Mega Collection Plus — PS2 A bunch of Sonic games on one disc. Easy win.

38. AC/DC Live Rock Band Track Pack — PS2 Somewhere, somebody still has the whole Rock Band setup in their basement.

37. The Tale of Despereaux — PS2 Absolutely random. Absolutely real.

36. Monster Jam — PS2 Monster trucks. PS2. Hell yeah.

35. Endless Ocean — Wii The Wii library could get really weird.

34. We Ski — Wii And we mean that in the best possible way.

33. Carnival Games — Wii If you owned a Wii, there is a pretty good chance you’ve played this.

32. AMF Bowling Pinbusters — Wii The Wii was basically built for bowling games.

31. Kawasaki Snowmobiles — Wii One of those titles that makes digging through a random Wii stack worth it.

30. Ten Pin Alley 2 — Wii Yes, there was a second one.

29. NCAA March Madness 2005 — Xbox Old sports games are getting more fun to find as time goes on.

28. FIFA 18 — Xbox One Still moving through the trade pile.

27. Madden NFL 20 — Xbox One Same story.

26. MLB The Show 21 — Xbox One Physical sports games aren’t going anywhere yet.

25. NBA 2K18 — Xbox One

24. NBA 2K20 — Xbox One

23. NBA 2K21 — Xbox One

22. Madden NFL 21 — Xbox One

There’s a reason we’re grouping these.

Sports games are everywhere.

People buy them, people play them, people trade them in, and eventually we end up with a stack of them staring back at us.

20. LEGO Movie Videogame — Xbox 360 The 360 library is so damn deep.

You can pull 20 games out of a random box and somehow have 20 completely different memories attached to them.

19. Ghost Recon — PS2 Another one from the giant PS2 catalog.

18. CSI: Hard Evidence — Wii This is where the list starts getting properly weird.

17. Wii Fit — Wii We’re counting it.

16. Fable III [Not For Resale] — Xbox 360 This is the stuff that catches our attention.

Same game, different release. Collector brain kicks in.

15. Fallout 3: Game of the Year — Xbox 360 Still one of the easiest 360 recommendations.

14. BioShock — Xbox 360 Classic.

13. Wheelman — Xbox 360 Completely unnecessary amount of fun for a game most people forgot existed.

12. Operation Flashpoint: Red River — Xbox 360 Another one of those 360 games that makes you realize how much stuff came out during that generation.

11. World Heroes Anthology — PS2 Now we’re getting into the fun stuff.

10. MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf — Xbox

This one’s personal.

We had one come through a trade recently and it immediately got the “oh shit” reaction.

There are games that are valuable.

There are games that are rare.

And then there are games that just take you back.

MechAssault 2 is one of those for us.

9. Saints Row 2 — Xbox 360

This showed up repeatedly in the trade data.

And honestly, we’re not surprised.

Saints Row 2 is still stupid in exactly the way it needs to be.

8. Grand Theft Auto V — Xbox 360

It’s GTA V.

You know it.

We know it.

Apparently people are still trading it in.

7. Gears of War 2 — Xbox 360

Another 360 staple.

This whole generation is starting to hit that sweet spot where the games are cheap, plentiful, and old enough to feel nostalgic again.

6. Kinect Adventures — Xbox 360

Okay, this one made us laugh.

Kinect Adventures kept showing up.

Not once.

Not just some random copy buried in a trade.

Multiple times.

So apparently 2026 is the year Kinect Adventures makes its comeback.

We don’t make the rules.

5. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 — Xbox 360

Still a banger.

Still fun.

Still one of those games that makes you want to put the disc in and disappear for a few hours.

4. Battlefield 3 — Xbox 360

Same generation.

Same reason.

The Xbox 360/PS3 era had an absolutely ridiculous run of shooters.

3. Order Up — Wii

ORDER UP.

Yeah, we’re putting a Wii cooking game at #3.

And we’re not taking it back.

This is one of our personal favorites.

It’s goofy. It’s charming. It’s different.

And every time one shows up, somebody here notices.

That’s enough for us.

2. Battlefield 4 — Xbox 360

Another personal favorite.

And one that kept showing up in the trade activity too.

We actually had multiple Battlefield 4 trade records hit recently, with copies making their way into the system and inventory.

So yeah.

It earned the spot.

1. Whatever Weird Game We Find Next

This is cheating.

We know.

But it’s also the most honest answer.

Because the best part of doing this isn’t getting another copy of GTA or Madden.

It’s finding the weird shit.

The five-screw NES cart.

The PS2 game you haven’t seen in years.

The random Xbox game you forgot existed.

The CIB copy that’s way cleaner than you expected.

The obscure Wii title that somehow has a $20 comp.

That’s the stuff.

That’s why we keep digging through these piles.

So What’s Actually Showing Up?

Looking at the August–September trade and inventory activity, Xbox 360 has been everywhere.

Wii has been surprisingly strong.

PS2 keeps coughing up weird stuff.

NES is doing NES things.

And Xbox One is officially getting old enough that we’re seeing people start to treat those games like actual collection pieces instead of just last-gen leftovers.

That’s pretty damn cool.

And this list will probably look completely different a month from now.

That’s kind of the fun.
