Every number here comes from real, finished trade-ins. Nothing on this page is a placeholder.
Every game. Every shop.
Comp is the market benchmark each offer is measured against. Percentages are that shop’s cut of it. Bold is the best offer on the row, ours or not. A dash means that shop never quoted it.

All prices quoted September 7, 2026 (2026-09-07) and screenshotted before publication. Re-verified quarterly. * CATRP’s Pokémon Stadium quote is for box-no-manual, not complete in box like the rest of that row — shown, not compared. Okami, Tekken 3, and Crash Bandicoot [Greatest Hits] show real prices with no comp: we never independently confirmed one, so there’s no percentage printed for those three.
Where we don’t win
6 of 21. Someone paid more.
Mostly on the games everybody already Googles before they ship anything: Sonic The Hedgehog, Spider-Man 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64, The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Pokémon FireRed.
We’re not burying that. A formula that only wins when nobody’s checking isn’t a formula. It’s a coupon.
And the sharper version of the same objection: $1,113.43. That’s what you’d collect splitting the ten-game basket across whichever shop pays most per title — about $32.92 more than our $1,080.51. Four sales. Four accounts. Four boxes. Four waits. We’d rather hand you that number than have you find it and wonder what else we left off.
What we won’t do is move our rate to win a row. Ours is published: 55% cash under $30, 75% from $30 to $99.99, 85% at $100 and up or on any marquee title. Every item. Every day. Whether or not anyone’s watching.
What the price doesn’t tell you
A quote is only as good as the condition it assumes you’re sending. Two of three published a floor. We don’t have one.
CATRP assumes
8/10 or better
Linked from their footer. Not on the quote page.
QuickFlips assumes
“Excellent condition”
Full stop. No number attached.
We assume
Nothing
Mint to Poor. Doesn’t power on at all. Every one prices.
Fall short of either bar and you’re somewhere in a deduction table that runs from 10% to 100%. Sometimes for the exact same scratch.
| If your item has… | Cart-A-Vision | CATRP | QuickFlips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doesn't work at all | No published cut | 50%–100% | 50%–100% |
| Heavy wear / cosmetic damage | No published cut | 50%–100% | 50%–100% |
| Excessive dirt or cleaning | No published cut | 10%–50% | 15%–100% |
| Yellowing / discoloration | No published cut | 25% | 20%–100% |
Widest published range for that failure across every item type each shop breaks it down by (cartridge, disc, console, controller, handheld) — not an average. DKOldies publishes no deduction schedule we could find, for any category.
We don’t have a floor because we don’t have a percentage. Tell us what you actually have — Mint, Good, Fair, Poor, doesn’t power on at all — and the number reflects the truth, not what you were supposed to send us. If it inspects lower than described, you get a revised offer with the real reason attached, from a locked list, every time. Take it or ship it back. Free.
Everything above is a survey — real prices, but nobody actually shipped us those games. This is different. It’s the trade-ins we’ve actually done. 3 in. Over $800.00 paid out. Under $30.00 adjusted. Total. Combined. All 3. Small sample. We know. We’re not hiding that either — it’s the real number, and it’s the only one we’ve got so far.
Credit where it’s due
CATRP and QuickFlips both independently draw the same two lines. Neither dings you for a broken case. Neither dings you for a handheld missing its charger or stylus.
CATRP won’t ding you for:
- • A case that's broken, chipped, or covered in stickers (cover-art rules still apply)
- • Missing charger or stylus on a handheld
- • Missing AV/HDMI cables
- • Dry save batteries on Pokémon cartridges
- • A disc that needs resurfacing, as long as it's repairable
MyQuickFlips won’t ding you for:
- • A case that's broken or chipped
- • Missing charger or stylus on a handheld
Small mercies. Worth saying. Everything else on their lists still runs 10 to 100 percent, and the page won’t tell you which end you’re getting until your box is already open on their bench.

Batch offer prices are locked for 30 days from submission, then recalculated. Their guidelines separately state a rejected item is not returned.
Checked directly: none of the three require an account to see a price.
A payout is what lands in your pocket
Shipping, insurance, and returns aren’t part of a quoted price. They come out of the same money. Here’s everything we cover, on every trade-in, at any value:
The label, up front
Prepaid and tracked, emailed the same day you accept. Nothing comes out of your pocket to find out what something's worth.
Insurance, at full comp
Every label is insured to the full comp value of what's inside — a $600 grail and a $5 loose cart are both covered for what they're actually worth.
The trip back
Decline the offer, or a revised one, and it ships back at our cost. No obligation, no restocking fee.
No minimum
Any item with a comp on file qualifies — there's no dollar threshold to clear before we'll cover the shipping.
The shops that couldn’t even be on this page
Not every buyer publishes what they pay. As of September 7, 2026:
LukieGames
Advertises that it “pays more than any other competitor.”
No public buy list or published formula we could find to check a quote against.
Publishes free trade-in shipping only on orders over $20.
videogamecompany
No public buy list or published formula we could find to check a quote against.
We’re not saying what those shops pay. We don’t know. That’s the whole point. A payout claim you can’t check before you ship isn’t a number. It’s a promise. Ours is posted publicly, title by title. No account required.
How we did this
We re-quote the whole list on a schedule. Not patched row by row — a table with September prices sitting next to December ones would look current when it isn’t.
We’re also reporting what these shops actually published. Not what we think it means. No guessing at anyone’s reasoning, no read on anyone’s business — and that holds on the rows where they beat us too.
One more, since three of these happen to be flagship names: Mega Man, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night all land at our top tier because their comp clears $100 on its own. Same as any non-marquee $100+ game. Not the flagship floor. Worth saying plainly.
Want one shop isolated from the four-way basket above? We broke each head-to-head out onto its own page — vs DKOldies, vs CATRP, or vs MyQuickFlips.
Thinking about the mall instead? We ran the same exercise against a dated GameStop quote — see that comparison.
Questions about this comparison
What We Pay
No. On this list of 21 games, at least one shop beat us on 6: Sonic The Hedgehog, Spider-Man 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64, The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Pokémon FireRed. Mostly the ones everybody already checks before they ship anything. Across the 16 games every shop quoted at matching condition, we paid $1,080.51 against $801.00 at the next-best shop — because where we lose, we lose narrow, and where we win, we win big. A page that wins every line isn't a comparison. It's an ad.
Yes. $1,113.43 against our $1,080.51 — about $32.92 more. That's four separate sales, four accounts, four boxes, four waits. We'd rather hand you that number than have you find it and wonder what else got left off the page.
Every figure — ours included — was quoted on September 7, 2026 and screenshotted before it went on this page. Each row states the condition the quote is for, because these shops don't all quote the same basis. Three titles (Okami, Tekken 3, Crash Bandicoot [Greatest Hits]) show every shop's real price but no comp — we never independently confirmed one, so we're not printing a percentage we can't back.
We don't know, and we're not going to guess. What's measurable: DKOldies and CATRP quoted the exact same Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, same day, same condition. One said $64.00. The other said $134.60 — 2.1x more. That's two shops, not us, and it's the cleanest evidence we have that "the market rate" isn't a real thing. Ours is a published formula. It doesn't move by title.
All offers are based on items that are in 8/10 condition or better. That's linked from CATRP's footer, not shown on the quote itself. QuickFlips: "The displayed offer prices are based on items in excellent condition — deductions will apply to those in average, poor, or broken condition." DKOldies states no floor at all — no condition criteria we could find anywhere on its sell page. We don't have a floor either. Every condition on our ladder prices, Mint through Poor, and a non-functional item still prices As-Is instead of getting turned away.
They're the quoted payouts, not the net. On our side there's nothing to subtract: the label is prepaid and tracked, it's insured to the full comp value of what's inside, the return trip is on us if you decline, and there's no minimum to clear first. We checked all three rivals directly for a return or decline policy and found nothing published for CATRP or DKOldies. QuickFlips locks a batch quote for 30 days, then recalculates it — and states separately that a rejected item isn't returned.
Checked directly: no. Not CATRP, not DKOldies, not MyQuickFlips. Worth saying plainly rather than letting it go unstated — that critique belongs to LukieGames and videogamecompany, further down this page, and nowhere else.
Quarterly, re-quoted as a whole list rather than patched row by row — a table mixing months while reading as current is worse than no table. This edition: September 7, 2026.
