Atari 2600 Condition Notes
2600 boxes are unlaminated, thin cardboard from the late '70s/early '80s and very few survived intact — a genuinely complete-in-box copy carries a real premium over the cart alone for exactly that reason, more so than on later consoles. Cartridge labels are paper and prone to peeling or fading, and a corroded edge connector (from decades of storage) is the most common reason an otherwise-fine cart won't boot — a simple contact clean often fixes it.
